Stiles Machinery Inc. announces Heesemann's new BM-8 brush sander saves labor and time for sanding both raw wood and sealer coat of 3-D workpieces by eliminating hand sanding. Heesemann's new R-U-T head has 19 rotating discs that move in an oval path perpendicular to the feed direction. To guarantee superb coverage while maintaining a uniform scratch, the sanding discs meet the workpiece edges continuously from two opposite directions, while the rotation of the discs via a single drive ensures that they all turn at the same speed and sand the same amount. The path and speed of the sanding discs is infinitely adjustable with the use of frequency inverters. Designed to be modular, the R-U-T sanding head can be part of any Heesemann widebelt sanding machine or as an integral part of the Heesemann BM-8 brush sanding machine. The G0677 has a 15-hp, 220-volt/440-volt, three-phase sanding/planing motor.It has a spiral cutterhead in front, and a sanding drum in back does the work of two machines. The spiral cutterhead features 188 indexable inserts. The G0677 can plane and sand stock up to 24 in. wide and 6 in. thick.
